The Board of Directors of the Alzheimer Society London and Middlesex (ASLM) is pleased to welcome Carol Walters as our new CEO. Carol assumed the leadership position at ASLM at the end of May.

Carol brings extensive leadership experience in healthcare transformation, quality improvement, strategy development and project delivery. Carol has over 20 years of healthcare experience; most recently as Director, Clinical NeuroSciences/Women’s Care and South West Regional Stroke Network at London Health Sciences Centre. She has also served as a Director on the McCormick Care Foundation sitting as Chair of the Fund Development and Governance Committee.

Carol has a deep personal connection with Alzheimer’s disease and understands the impact of dementia upon the person diagnosed, their care partners and family. As she states, “Throughout my work at LHSC, my volunteer roles and my personal experience with my grandmother and now, my mother, I’ve admired the work of the Alzheimer Society as a source of innovative and quality care and support for families living with dementia in London and Middlesex. I’m thrilled to be here and to work with this great team of staff and volunteers as we continue to positively impact families in our region.”

Carol’s passionate approach to dementia care, her proven leadership abilities and her personal experience with Alzheimer’s disease will serve our clients well as we fulfill our mission to provide hope, relief and support while partnering with individuals and families throughout their journey with dementia.

As our region’s population ages and the demand for our services increase, Carol and the staff team at ASLM are dedicated in our mission of delivering effective, compassionate and innovative dementia programming and support, advocacy and funding for research.
