A ‘Moment of Innovation’ is a creative approach to dementia care that achieves an enhanced quality of life for people living with dementia through new care approaches, strategies or techniques.

We want to hear from you. If you have an innovative idea that has helped you provide care, submit your video with an elevator pitch of your innovation for a chance to win! The format is simple:

(1:00 – 1:30 minutes in length – videos over 1:30 will not be considered)

Deadline: November 1st, 2018

Grand Prize: 2 tickets to Navigating the Road Ahead 2019 ($250 value)

How to Enter:
Structure your video to answer the following questions: What was the challenge? How did you respond to the challenge? What was the result? You can provide a visual example of your innovation or just explain it on camera. Get someone to film you on your phone and upload it to Facebook with the hashtag #MomentsOfInnovation, then submit it via the form below to officially enter.

Voting Process:

  1. Online voters vote for their favourite video out of all submissions, with the top voted video moving on to the final 5.
  2. The remaining 4 finalist videos will be selected by a community panel.
  3. The top 5 videos are featured at Navigating the Road Ahead on November 20th. Conference attendees will vote to choose the winner.
  4. The winner is announced at the end of the conference.

How do I enter?

How long should my video be?

Videos should be anywhere between 1:00 – 1:30 minutes. Videos over 1:30 in length will not be considered.

Does my video need to be shot on a professional camera?

The higher quality the better, but for this contest we want you to express your innovation as easily as possible. Get a friend or coworker to shoot your video on your phone!

Where do I upload my video?

Upload your video to Facebook and use the hashtag #MomentsOfInnovation, then submit it to us via the form above! NOTE: Make sure the video is set to public so we can see it.

I don't have a Facebook account - can I still enter?

If you do not have a Facebook account but would like to enter your video, you can submit your entry via the form above or email it to abrown@alzheimerlondon.ca for consideration.
